League tables

Richmond upon Thames

How the tables are ranked

Secondary: ranked by Attainment 8. Where two schools tie, the share of pupils getting grade 5 or above in English and maths decides it.

Primary: ranked by the share of pupils meeting the expected standard in reading, writing and maths. Where two schools tie, the share at the higher standard decides it.

Tied schools share a rank, and the next rank is skipped (1, 2, 2, 4). Each school shows two ranks: its place in its council and its place in England.

What "provisional" means

The secondary results are the DfE's first release for 2025/26. They can change when the DfE publishes revised figures, due in February 2027. We'll update the tables then.

Secondary results can't be compared with 2019/20 to 2021/22.

Progress 8

There's no Progress 8 for 2024/25 or 2025/26. These pupils didn't sit key stage 2 tests because of the pandemic, so there's no starting point to measure from. Where we show Progress 8, it's the latest published figure (2023/24, final), labelled with its year. Progress 8 compares schools within one year, so you can't compare it from one year to the next. DfE guidance

There's no primary progress measure for 2024/25 either, because there's no key stage 1 baseline. The DfE is bringing it back for 2025/26, and we'll add it when the school data is out.

Why some schools aren't ranked

Shown beside each unranked school:

  • Not in scope: independent, special, non-maintained special and FE 14–16 schools are listed but not ranked, because they aren't compared on the same basis.
  • Small cohort: fewer than 11 pupils, so one or two pupils would swing the result.
  • Cohort not published: the DfE didn't publish a cohort figure for this school.
  • Result suppressed: the DfE withheld the figure to protect pupils' privacy. For secondary results it does this when 5 or fewer pupils are in the group.
  • Result not available: the DfE didn't publish this measure for this school.

Reading the columns

  • Cohort: the number of pupils the results cover.
  • Disadvantaged: the share of pupils counted as disadvantaged by the DfE.
  • EHCP and SEN support: the share of pupils with an education, health and care plan, and the share on SEN support, from the January 2026 census. For primary schools this census is from a different year to the results.
  • A blank means the DfE didn't publish the figure. It isn't a zero.

About this data

Rankings without context can mislead. These tables use official Department for Education statistics (Key stage 4 performance, published 15 October 2026). 2025/26 key stage 4 data is PROVISIONAL and will be revised by DfE in February 2027. There is no Progress 8 for 2024/25 or 2025/26 because these pupils did not sit KS2 tests during the COVID-19 pandemic; where shown, Progress 8 is the latest published figure (2023/24) and is labelled with its year. Progress 8 is relative and in-year, so it cannot be compared year on year. EBacc measures are not included (removed from the 2025/26 tables). DfE suppresses secondary results where 5 or fewer pupils are in the cohort, including sub-groups (DfE, Secondary accountability measures guidance, updated 20 October 2026: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/progress-8-school-performance-measure/secondary-accountability-measures-2025-guidance-for-maintained-secondary-schools-academies-and-free-schools). Rankings based on attainment alone do not account for pupils' starting points or context. Please consider cohort size, disadvantage and SEND figures shown alongside each school. Schools with fewer than 11 pupils, or with figures suppressed by DfE ("c"), are not ranked. Special, independent and alternative provision schools are shown but not ranked. Results are not comparable with 2019/20 to 2021/22. SEND percentages are from the January 2026 school census (Special educational needs in England, published 11 June 2026). About this data

Rankings without context can mislead. These tables use official Department for Education statistics (Key stage 2 attainment, school-level 2024/25 FINAL data, API version dated 23 April 2026). 2025/26 school-level results are due from DfE in December 2026. KS2 progress measures were not published for 2023/24 or 2024/25 because there is no KS1 baseline; DfE is reinstating them for 2025/26 and they will be added when the school-level 2025/26 data is published. Suppression follows DfE's published codes only. Rankings based on attainment alone do not account for pupils' starting points or context. Please consider cohort size, disadvantage and SEND figures shown alongside each school. Schools with fewer than 11 eligible pupils, or with figures suppressed by DfE ("c"), are not ranked. Special schools are shown but not ranked. SEND percentages are from the January 2026 school census (Special educational needs in England, published 11 June 2026), a different year from the results.
